Wrinkleleaf goldenrod is a native North American perennial that lights up late summer and fall with dense sprays of small yellow flowers, an important late-season nectar source for bees, butterflies and other pollinators. Its fresh flower heads, picked at peak bloom, yield a bright, long-lasting yellow dye that turns duller once the flowers go to seed. It grows in clumps two to five feet tall on ground from moist to occasionally wet or dry, spreading gradually by rhizome and self-sown seed.
