Himalayan Blackberry is a fast, thicket-forming bramble whose arching canes root wherever their tips touch soil, so a single planting turns into a dense thorny mass within a few seasons. It rewards that vigor with large, sweet blackberries over a long picking season, plus heavy use by nesting birds, browsing deer and bears, and goats that will strip the canes down for you. It roots so deep and so thoroughly that clearing it back out again takes repeated cutting or grazing over years - so plant it only where you want a living fence or boundary thicket, well clear of paths and anything meant to be weeded by hand.
