Linden Flower

Linden Flower is a large, long-lived deciduous shade tree grown for its fragrant, sweet flower clusters, dried and steeped into a calming tea, and for the bast fiber stripped from its inner bark, historically twisted into rope, mats and cordage. Its flowers are an exceptional draw for bees and other pollinating insects over a long summer bloom. It grows in full sun to partial shade on soils from sandy to heavy clay, tolerating a wide pH range and considerable drought once established, and eventually reaches a scale that needs real room to mature.
