Turnip Greens Seven Top
Brassica rapa
Seven Top is a turnip grown only for its leaves - it never forms a usable root, so all its energy goes into a fast, cut-and-come-again crop of greens ready in about a month. It is a cool-season crop that bolts if young plants meet a cold snap, so it is sown from fall through winter rather than chased into summer. Left uncut, it flowers for bees and drops seed readily enough to reappear on its own the following year.
