Great Blue Lobelia is an upright perennial wildflower bearing dense, leafy spikes of lavender-blue, two-lipped tubular flowers from mid to late summer. It grows in swamps, wet meadows, and along streambanks and pond margins, needing consistently moist to wet soil and tolerating little drought. Its native range spans the eastern and central United States, from the Northeast and upper Midwest south to the Gulf Coast and west to Colorado.
