Muhlenbergia lindheimeri

Lindheimer Muhly is a large, fountain-shaped bunchgrass with fine, blue-green foliage that produces airy, silvery to light purplish-grey plumes in fall, holding their shape and color well into winter. It needs full sun and well-drained clay or loam soil, and once established tolerates drought reliably. Large enough for screening or a specimen planting, it also provides fair forage for livestock and wildlife and nesting material for birds.
