Spotted Beebalm
Monarda punctata
Spotted Beebalm, also called Horsemint, is an aromatic, clump-forming perennial in the mint family, its slender stems topped by tiered whorls of pale yellow, maroon-flecked flowers held above showy pink-to-white bracts. The oregano-scented foliage and long summer bloom make it a strong draw for bees, wasps and other pollinators. It thrives in dry, well-drained, sandy to loamy ground in full sun and spreads gradually by rhizome to form loose colonies.
