Golden Pothos

Epipremnum aureum

Golden pothos is an evergreen vine that climbs by aerial roots, kept almost everywhere as a trailing houseplant because it tolerates low light and neglect better than almost anything else grown indoors. Its leaves are heart-shaped and marbled yellow, cream or white while young; given something to climb, it matures into a plant with much larger, deeply lobed leaves that most people never see, because houseplants are kept in their juvenile form. Every part contains calcium oxalate crystals that irritate the mouth and skin on contact, and outdoors in frost-free climates the same climbing habit lets it colonize tree canopy and forest floor alike.
