Texas Yellow Star
Lindheimera texana
Texas Yellow Star is a widely branched, hairy-stemmed annual wildflower reaching up to two feet tall, topped by inch-wide yellow, daisy-like flower heads with three to six notched rays. It blooms from early to late spring and draws bees and butterflies. It grows readily from seed in full sun and dry, well-drained sandy, loamy or limestone-derived ground, and self-sows reliably where left to set seed.
