Zizotes Milkweed
Asclepias oenotheroides
Zizotes milkweed is a low, drought-tolerant perennial of dry sandy and gravelly ground across the south-central United States and northern Mexico. Its green flowers, often tinged with purple or yellow, open over a long season from early spring into fall. Like other milkweeds it is a required host plant for monarch butterfly caterpillars and a nectar source for bees and other pollinators.
